My ASUS Rebate Arrived!

It’s a good thing I was sitting on the toilet as I was opening my mail tonight, because I think a little pee came out when I got my $27 ASUS rebate!

I bought an ASUS graphics card and completed the forms for the $27 mail-in rebate. As you can see in my earlier post, I was exceptionally meticulous about following instructions exactly. I dotted my “i’s” and crossed my “t’s”, and was sure I’d get the rebate.

Then about a week later I got my original letter back. I followed all of their stupid instructions and then I forgot the freaking stamp! I seriously shouldn’t be allowed to procreate.

At this point, I was pretty sure I was past the deadline for sending in the rebate information. I decided to just stamp the thing and send it anyway. I didn’t think they would actually fulfill the rebate, but at least I wouldn’t have the stupid envelope in my apartment reminding me of my ineptness.

Then, like some angel from heaven, the rebate came to me in a $27 prepaid credit card.

I have to say I’m truly impressed with the rebate company. Plus I feel like I found free money. Time to start filling my Kindle with books!

Eat my rebate
I’m so excited I don’t know whether to spend it or eat it!

  1. I know how you feel! I’m always skeptical of mail-in-rebates and more than once I’ve had companies not give me a rebate because of one reason or another. I refuse to do business with such companies.

But with Asus, I do have good memories! Not a graphics card, but a router. They sent in the check promptly!

    1. It was so awesome! I was fully expecting not to get the rebate, and then it just showed up and made my night! I don’t even usually post on weekends, but I was so excited I had to share!

It’s good to hear you’ve had a good rebate experience as well. I actually get a lot of search engine visits to my site with searches like “asus rebate” so I have a feeling everyone isn’t having the same positive experience.

  2. hilarious! glad you got the rebate though. i didn’t know companies still did paper rebates. it seems like most opt for the electronic rebate, but as long as we get the money, it shouldn’t matter, right?

  3. Yay! Rebates are such a fun surprise because you seriously never know if or when they will actually come! Wish I could recommend a good book for your Kindle, but I can’t.

  4. What kind of number is $27 for a rebate?

You seriously didn’t pay them $3 dollars out of your $30 rebate for “fast processing” did you? (Only to follow that up with a major delay of no stamp?)

If you did pay it, then THAT is the only reason that you shouldn’t procreate, and it seems that you have happily contributed to the acceptability of a growing corporate disservice, as well as the growing acceptability of impatience in our society. I would doubt that you were hard-up for the $27 to warrant a 10% loss.

Could you send me $3 please? If you don’t give a s*** about $3, then I’ll take better care of it for you.
