The Background of Thank You Notes
Thank you notes originated from Chinese and Egyptian cultures. These cultures would write friendship and good luck notes on papyrus paper and exchange them with friends and family.
Later, in around 1400 AD, Europeans started exchanging greeting cards (including cards which resembled thank you notes) by hand delivering them to loved ones.
In 1856, a German immigrant named Pouis Prang, brought the greeting cards and thank you notes to America. Since then, thank you notes and greeting cards have widely been used throughout the world.
Thank you notes have come such a long way since the beginning of time, however, the power of showing your gratitude to another person still remains as important today.
Ways You Can Say Thank You
Thank you note etiquette has remained the same, you simply take some time out to acknowledge someone’s kindness and write them a thank you note.
You might remember your mom making you do this when you received gifts for your birthday when you were younger. Often you’d open your presents and have to sit down and write a bunch of thank you notes.
Well, the good news is that if that experience has put you off handwriting your thank you notes, you can always use technology to help you create a thank you note instead.
You can create thank you notes online using software, or even create cards in apps – so you have no excuse not to show someone how thankful you are for them or something they have done for you.
